INSURANCE TECHNOLOGIES CONFERENCE 2021

Download Brochure here:Download

Background

This past year has been a really challenging one for the Insurance industry, as it has been for their clients. Obviously, claims in health insurance rose as people faced considerable detention in hospitals, thanks to a pandemic that had neither a cure nor a vaccine. Things have also rapidly slowed down on the sales front as travel and business operations were forced into a hiatus. The lack of human conduct has also forced insurers into territories some of them had not been ready for.

In light of these and other developments, the Insurance Technologies Conference 2021 – set for the 29th and 30th of April, 2021 – will continue on its theme of exploring the insurance landscape in the aftermath of a global pandemic and the new ways in with the industry had to re-align some strategies to adapt to the current times, as well as the outlook on future prospects in Insurance.

As always, we will also explore how advancements in disruptive technologies like automation, cloud computing, as well as big data are affecting the industry, both in terms of technological opportunities for adoption and also in terms of potential pitfalls like cybercrime.

Cybercrime is an issue that insurers should look at from both the perspectives of a security provider and a client, since it affects them just as much, if not more, as their clients. While risk management is something that insurers deal with daily, they, like other financial industry players, also need to stay abreast with cyber security precautions. Insurance companies hold enormous amounts of sensitive personal information such as personal properties, health data, which would prove disastrous to the companies and their clients, should these data fall in wrong hands.

To recap, we will focus on insurance post-COVID-19, and how industry players can step up during a time when they are need the most; just as we will also look at how the following trends will affect insurance:

  • Telematics, ride-sharing and autonomous vehicles
  • Big data, artificial intelligence and machine learning
  • Blockchain technologies
  • Diversification of insurance distribution channels
  • Personalisation insurance premiums
  • Self-service and improved customer experience in insurance claim settlements

As usual, our panel of experts will offer their insights on how insurance industry players can juggle the drive for better efficiency, retaining clients in the age of personalised premiums as well as manage competition by offering services that resonate with current customer needs.
